The Barnhay is conveniently located at the heart of the lovely historic village of Stoke Gabriel, Devon.
Snugly nestled into the green rolling hills of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Stoke Gabriel sits on the banks of the River Dart and the Mill Pool.
The location of this pretty medieval village also allows easy access for exploring the beautiful beaches and coastline of Devon or nearby Dartmoor.
There are some great local walks, fantastic crabbing spots just off the Quay, and plenty of opportunities for messing about on the water in the summer months: either on your own paddle board or by hiring a canoe or kyack from Totnes Kyacks.
This fully equipped, comfortable period cottage, just perfect for a family holiday or for friends to get together, is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, near to the ancient village church with its 800 year old yew tree, and a short walk from both village pubs and the excellent village shop, the village orchard and children’s playpark, as well as Emma’s restaurant and the Quay with the Rivershack riverside cafe & bistro.
The Barnhay has 1 kingsize and 2 double bedrooms, and another flexible bedroom that can be arranged as either 2 singles or 1 super-kingsize bed; plus the terrace snug which can (upon request) be arranged to be used as further sleeping space. There is an enclosed patio courtyard, and a south-facing terrace which catches the sun by day and the sunset in the evening: ideal for al fresco dining or enjoying a glass of wine watching the sun go down over the Mill Pool and the River Dart.
